Adam Rossington's century helped Pokhara Avengers set a target of 202 runs for Karnali Yaks in the second match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket on Tuesday.

After Rossington scored an unbeaten 108 runs, Pokhara, who came in to bat after losing the toss, scored 201 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs at the Tribhuvan University Cricket International Ground, Kirtipur. 

This is the third century in NPL history and all three are in the name of foreign players. Scottish batter Mark Watt from Karnali scored 114 runs against Lumbini Lions in this tournament and last year, American player Andries Gauss from Pokhara scored 104 runs against Lumbini. 

Rossington completed his century in 55 balls. Watt scored his century in 41 balls against Lumbini. Gauss scored his century in 54 balls. The 32-year-old Rossington hit 11 fours and 7 sixes in a total of 58 balls. 

Pokhara has also become the second team to cross 200 runs in the NPL. Biratnagar Kings scored 220 runs against Pokhara in the same tournament. 

Captain Kushal Bhurtel was dismissed for 18 runs off 17 balls after hitting 3 fours and 1 six, while Rossington shared a 127-run partnership for the second wicket with England's World Cup winner Jason Roy, who was playing his first match in the tournament. 

Roy was dismissed for 46 runs. He hit 2 fours and 3 sixes off 34 balls. Like him, Dhananjay Lakshman, who was playing his first match in the tournament, remained unbeaten on 23 runs off 11 balls after hitting 3 fours and 1 six. Karnali's Nandan Yadav took 1 wicket each for 34 runs in 4 overs and Watt for 24 runs in 3 overs. Captain Sompal Kami took 50 runs in 4 overs and Gulshan Jha could not take any wickets after spending 35 runs in 3 overs. 

Pokhara has won only 1 of its 4 matches. The team will have to win all three remaining matches to reach the playoffs. Karnali has won only 1 of its 5 matches. The team needs to win both remaining games to keep its hopes of reaching the playoffs alive.
