Kathmandu Gorkhaz, after a stellar bowling performance, defeated Chitwan Rhinos by 53 runs in the first match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket on Friday, making a one-sided entry into the 'Bagmati Derby'.

Chasing a target of 143 runs, Chitwan Tribhuvan Cricket International Stadium Kirtipur was all out for 89 runs in 17.2 overs. Rashid Khan took the last 3 wickets. He took 3 of the last 4 wickets in 1.2 overs, spending only 3 runs.

Captain Karan KC, Milind Kumar and Shahab Alam took 2 wickets each. Karan scored 23 runs in 4 overs, Milind 18 runs in 4 overs and Shahab 26 runs in 4 overs. Santosh Yadav took 1 wicket.
