Gaekwad scored 53 runs off 26 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes. Although Rahul Tripathi was dismissed for 2 runs, Gaikwad and Ravindra added 67 runs in 37 balls. Vignes Puthur along with Gaikwad dismissed Shivam Dubey (9) and Deepak Hooda (3) to try and bring Mumbai back into the game. Sam Curran was bowled for 4 runs. Ravindra Jadeja was run out for 17 runs. 

Hyderabad firm same 

With the help of Ishan Kisan's unbeaten century, Sunrise Hyderabad defeated Rajasthan Royals by 44 runs in the first match on Sunday. Continuing the batting power that Hyderabad showed while reaching the finals last year, the team made a huge score in their first match.

Hyderabad scored 286 runs for the loss of 6 wickets, the second highest score in IPL history. Last year, Hyderabad was only 1 run behind the 287 runs scored against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Kisan scored 106 runs in 47 balls. In response, Rajasthan could score only 242 runs for the loss of six wickets. This match was completely forgettable for English bowler Jofra Archer.
