The UML, the second largest party in the dissolved parliament, is struggling hard in this House of Representatives election. So far, it has managed to win only one seat. In the 2079 House of Representatives election, it was in second place with 78 seats.

According to the latest results, Mohammad Ishtiaq Rai, who joined the UML on the eve of the election, has been elected from Banke 2. With Rai's victory, the UML has opened its first account. He defeated Vivek Kumar Shrestha of the National Independent Party by getting 24,628 votes. Shrestha has got 18,682 votes.

According to the ongoing vote counting, the UML is leading in 13 seats. Amber Bahar Rayamajhi of Udayapur 2, Ram Chandra Mandal of Dhanusha 1, Pradeep Kumar Katwal Chhetri (KC) of Sindhuli 1, Khim Bahadur Thapa of Syangja 2, Narayan Prasad Acharya of Palpa 1, Laxmi Prasad Pokharel of Dailekh 2, Ain Bahadur Mahar of Bajhang, Yag Bahadur Bogati of Achham 2, Deepak Dhami of Doti 1 and Ganesh Singh Thagunna of Darchula have taken the lead.
