According to the ongoing vote counting in Lamjung, UML candidate Prithvi Subba Gurung is trailing behind the Congress and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) candidates by double the votes.
According to the latest results, UML candidate Gurung has received 517 votes when 3,131 votes were counted.
Congress candidate Gam Prasad Gurung is in second place with 1,017 votes. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh candidate Dharmaraj KC is in first place with 1,100 votes. NCP candidate Harijang Tamang is in fourth place with 206 votes.
So far, the counting of votes has been done in 4 wards of Dudhpokhari Rural Municipality 2, 4, 5 and 6. Now, the counting of 1 is underway.
There were a total of 137,124 voters in Lamjung. According to the Central Election Office, 75,250 votes were cast in 193 polling stations, including one temporary one, out of 130 polling stations. 38,856 women and 36,229 men voted.
Women voted 55.89 percent and men 53.59 percent. The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer has stated that 54.76 percent of the total voters cast their votes.
