According to the Election Commission, as of Friday night, he received 37,469 votes. His opponent, Himal Karki of the Nepali Congress, received 8,100 votes. Similarly, Binod Shrestha of the Nepali Congress (NCC) received 4,864 votes. NCP candidate Rupa Maharjan Shrestha received 2,648 votes. In the 2079 election, Congress Rajan KC had won the constituency.
