The election for members of the House of Representatives has been concluded enthusiastically in the mountainous district of Dolpa. The election was held in a peaceful atmosphere across the district on Thursday.

Chief District Officer Junu Hamal informed that the voting was conducted in a clean, dignified and peaceful manner in Dolpa, which has a total of 70 permanent and temporary polling stations. According to her, a total of 66.16 percent of the votes were cast in Dolpa.

Chief District Officer Hamal said that there may be some fluctuations until the collection of the bonds. She said that in numerical terms, 15,956 votes were cast. In Dolpa, which has a total of 24,115 voters, 8,159 votes were not cast.

It is said that less than 50 percent of the votes were cast in 23 polling stations in Upper Dolpa. The low voter turnout is due to the fact that most of the voters in Upper Dolpa did not come due to snowfall. It is said that the work of collecting the bonds is currently underway.
