Senior Congress leader and Morang-6 candidate Shekhar Koirala has said that the Science Building of Mahendra Morang Campus was constructed on his own initiative.

Addressing an election program organized in Biratnagar-12, he said that he had taken the initiative to bring a budget of Rs 50 million for the construction of the building and that the construction of the science building was completed from the same budget.

At the program, Koirala said, "You have seen a separate science campus within Morang College, who built it? I took the initiative and brought a plan of Rs 50 million." He said that he was continuously working on improving the educational infrastructure of the campus and said that there was still a lot of work to be done. "Morang College is not like it was when I studied. Change and development are necessary according to the times," he said, "There is a need to expand additional infrastructure, laboratories and resources to enhance the educational quality of this area."

Candidate Koirala urged the Nepali Congress to win this election and expressed the need for people's support to continue the development work he had started.

He reiterated his commitment to making Biratnagar-12 flood-free as another important agenda. Referring to the problems faced by the locals due to the Kesaliya River during the rainy season, he said that he would prioritize the construction of embankments. 'The Kesaliya River has been causing trouble to the residents here for years,' he said, 'I have a clear plan to make Biratnagar flood-free by building a strong embankment.'

According to him, sustainable development is possible only through coordination between the local level, the province and the federal government. He said that since Biratnagar-12 is a large and promising ward, the development of roads, bridges, sewerage and other infrastructure should be accelerated.

Koirala, discussing the development works done in the past, committed to implementing the plan more effectively in the coming days. He said, 'Development works are not possible alone. The cooperation of all the wards, cities, provinces and the union is necessary. For that, political stability and competent leadership are needed.'

Meanwhile, the Congress Biratnagar-12 has also intensified its door-to-door program. As the election atmosphere heats up, development, infrastructure and flood control have emerged as the main agenda in Biratnagar-12. Koirala's claim to build a science building and commitment to make the city flood-free have made the local political environment more interesting.
