For the election of members of the House of Representatives to be held on February 21, 13 people have filed their candidacies in Udayapur Constituency No. 2.
According to Election Officer Lok Bahadur Katuwal, Ram Kumar Rai from Nepali Congress, Amber Bahadur Rayamajhi from CPN-UML, Suresh Kumar Rai from Nepali Communist Party and Surya Bahadur Tamang from National Independent Party have filed their candidacies from Udayapur-2. According to him, Purna Bahadur Budhathoki from Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, Bhaskar Rai from Mongol National Organization, Bishnu Bahadur Khadka from Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Arun Rai from National Parivartan Party, and Bam Bahadur Magar from Aam Janata Party have filed their nominations.
Similarly, Balraj Rai from Shram Sanskriti Party, Durga Bahadur Tamang from CPN-Maoist Center, Keshav Bahadur Magar from Janata Samajwadi Party and Major Kumar Rai from Swatantra have filed their candidacies, according to the Election Officer's office. None of the 13 parties has fielded a woman candidate. According to the Election Office, the National Change Party has fielded 26-year-old Arun Rai as its candidate, while the Nepali Communist Party has fielded a 33-year-old youth. The CPN-UML has fielded incumbent MPs, while others have given new candidates a chance.
