The UML has given a ticket to an old face in Bara for the House of Representatives.
In the district with four federal constituencies, Achyut Mainali has been nominated as a candidate in Constituency No. 1. He defeated the then Joint General Secretary of the Nepali Congress and former Minister Umakant Chaudhary from this constituency in 2079 BS by almost double the votes.
Balbir Chaudhary has got a ticket from Constituency No. 2. He was defeated from this constituency in 2079 BS.
Former Minister Jwala Kumari Sah has become a candidate in Constituency No. 3. A central member, she has also been a minister before. She comes from a Maoist background and stayed with UML after the NCP split.
She was elected as a member of the Provincial Assembly in 2074 BS and to the House of Representatives from this constituency in 2079 BS. After not being recommended by the regional committee, the district recommended her without allocating a constituency.
Central member Kisan Kumar Shrestha has got a ticket from Constituency No. 4. He was earlier elected as a member of the House of Representatives from the then Unified Socialist Party from this constituency in 2079 BS. He belongs to a business family. After the parties including the Unified Socialists and Maoists formed the Nepali Communist Party, he returned to the UML along with Ram Kumari Jhakri.
