Even before the start of the Nepali Congress' special general convention, a crowd of convention delegates and cadres has begun to be seen in the Bhrikuti Mandap area of Kathmandu.

As delegates from various districts across the country began arriving in Kathmandu, the hustle and bustle around the convention venue has intensified. Delegates have gradually started arriving at Bhrikutimandap for the special convention to be held on Sunday and Monday, informed central member Ajay Babu Shiwakoti.

As the stage construction, hall decoration and technical preparations are reaching their final stages, the venue area has become more active with the presence of delegates and cadres.

According to the convention management committee, work related to delegate registration, distribution of identity cards and accommodation coordination has also been progressing at a brisk pace since yesterday. As the delegates started arriving, volunteers have been mobilized and venue management has been made more efficient, informed Susan Vaidya, member secretary of the public mobilization committee.

Work is underway to place party flags, banners and promotional materials in the Bhrikutimandap premises, while preparations have also been intensified in entrance management, security coordination and transport management, said Madhav Chamlagain, member secretary of the publicity committee.

The special general convention called with the direct involvement of Nepali Congress general secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma is considered important from the perspective of internal political debate within the party. Therefore, not only representatives, but also well-wishers and supporters are coming to the capital.

According to the Public Mobilization Committee, a large number of cadres and well-wishers are expected to be present at the inaugural session. With this, the Bhrikutimandap area is being transformed into the main center of political activities centered on the special general convention.
