31 parties have submitted their closed lists of proportional representation candidates for the House of Representatives elections to the Election Commission.

The Commission has set a deadline for submitting the closed list only by midnight on Monday.

There is a provision that parties have to deposit 50,000 while submitting the closed list. The Commission has stated that the closed list of all political parties that have completed the process will be reviewed.

As the parties do not submit their names within office hours, the process of verifying and reviewing the closed list is going on till late at night.

The country has entered the election atmosphere with the political parties submitting their candidate lists for the proportional electoral system for the House of Representatives elections scheduled for 21 Falgun. The movement of political party leaders, workers and supporters in the Commission premises since morning has conveyed the message that the country has entered the election.

Out of the total 275 members of the House of Representatives, 110 are elected through the proportional electoral system. The relevant party will get seats based on the votes received by the political party and the commission will elect members from the inclusive clusters included in the closed list according to the serial number. There is a legal provision that only candidates from the party that receives three percent or more of the total votes cast under the proportional electoral system will be elected.
