An agreement has been reached between Rashtriya Swatantra Party President Ravi Lamichhane and Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) to update the National Independent Party. According to the agreement, the details of the update will be submitted to the Election Commission by involving Balen supporters in the Rashtriya Swatantra Party.
Point number 6 of the agreement signed on Sunday morning states, 'In accordance with this agreement, the documents related to the National Independent Party will be updated in the Election Commission.'
The agreement mentions bringing in young activists and experienced experts to make the party structure of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party more capable and broader. 'After the grand unification, the young activists and experienced experts will be appropriately adjusted and assigned responsibilities based on competence, inclusiveness and public image,' the agreement mentions.
The name, flag and election symbol of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party will remain the same as before, the agreement signed by Ravi and Balen states. 'After the grand unification between the first party and the second party, the name of the political party to be established will be 'Rasty Swatantra Party', the party flag will be a blue bell in the middle of a white circle on the same blue background, the party's election symbol will be 'bell' and the central office will remain in the Kathmandu Valley,' the agreement mentions.
Other cultured and transformative alternative political forces, groups and individuals have also been called upon to rally around the principles, leadership and election symbol of the National Independent Party, the 'bell', to advance the issues of democratic good governance, progress and social justice.
