The UML has demanded the formation of an independent investigation commission led by a former Supreme Court judge into the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24, saying that the current investigation commission is invalid.
The 11th general convention held in Kathmandu on Thursday demanded the formation of an independent investigation commission led by a former Supreme Court judge to investigate the incidents of that day.
'A competent, expert and impartial commission is required to investigate this incident. But the government has formed an alleged investigation commission led by a person with prejudice, corrupt thinking and ill intentions. Even if no facts are confirmed, it cannot be believed that the truth will come out from that commission, which had a pre-plan to implicate the then Prime Minister and Chairman KP Sharma Oli and other political leaders,' the UML said. 'Therefore, this general convention declares the commission invalid and demands that an independent investigation commission be formed under the leadership of a former Supreme Court judge.'
