The voting process for the selection of the new leadership of the UML has reached its final stage. Only a few people are left to vote, informed Sanuraj Pokharel, Vice-Chairman of the 11th General Convention Central Election Commission.

Voting, which began at 9:12 am on Wednesday, continued throughout the night. Despite the use of electronic voting machines that produce quick results, it did not go as expected. Due to this, the general convention, which was supposed to end in three days, has been extended by two more days.

11 out of 301 central committee members and 19 office bearers have been elected unopposed. The delegates will have to choose 290. This time, the machine has a setting that no candidate can move forward without voting, so no candidate can move forward without voting.

Voters were complaining that they were not able to vote even after standing in line for 2 hours. At that time, candidates were asking for votes from the delegates who were in line.
