UML has claimed that 300,000 cadres will participate in the inaugural session of the general convention starting on Saturday. Party central member Rajan Bhattarai said that 300,000 leaders and cadres will participate in the inaugural session of the general convention.
He informed that even though it was not possible to invite guests from abroad to the general convention, they were requested to send their best wishes. Apart from that, he also said that leaders of 16 different parties will participate in the inaugural session.
Preparations for the 11th general convention of the UML have reached the final stage. The party organized a press conference at the general convention venue of Bhaktapur, Sallaghari, on Friday and informed that preparations for the general convention have reached the final stage.
Speaking at the press conference, Coordinator of the Stage Management Committee, Binod Shrestha, informed that preparations for the stage management have been completed.
'Preparations for the historic 11th national general convention of the CPN-UML are almost 90 percent complete. We have chosen this place as it is the most suitable place for the CPN (UML). Preparations for everything from the sound system to other management are in the final stages,' he said.
