The Election Commission has taken seven different decisions to conduct the election in a clean, credible and fear-free environment.
The decision to write to the Home Ministry to make arrangements for the implementation of these decisions has been made, said Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai.
The Commission has asked for a ban on the sale, distribution and consumption of alcoholic beverages from 7 days before the voting date until the final results of the election are announced. The Commission has decided to ban the operation of essential service vehicles (ambulances, fire engines, hearses, blood transfusion services, security agency vehicles, vehicles used for electricity maintenance, water supply and sewage maintenance, and telecommunication service maintenance), diplomatic mission vehicles, and vehicles that have obtained passes to be used on election day, except for public and private vehicles, from midnight on Falgun 20 to the evening of Falgun 21. The Commission has decided to ban the operation of other public and private vehicles on the voting day.
