Armed Police Inspector General Raju Aryal has instructed the officers working from the Kathmandu Valley headquarters and the senior superintendents of the Armed Police Force working from the provincial headquarters to discharge their responsibilities effectively through virtual means on Sunday, February 20.

The Armed Police Force Nepal Headquarters will deploy 23 Senior Superintendents of the Armed Police Force across the country from Monday, Falgun 11 to monitor the election. 

The officers deployed from the Valley and the Senior Superintendents of the Armed Police Force deployed from the headquarters and the provincial headquarters have been instructed by the Inspector General of the Armed Police Force Raju Aryal to effectively discharge their responsibilities through virtual means on Sunday, Falgun 10. 

Aryal directed the election to be completed by facing any adverse situation that may arise before, during and after the election. Inspector General Aryal directed that any challenges may arise during the election, so that the security of candidates, polling stations, voters and ballot boxes should be strengthened throughout the period.

He also directed the police to collect information related to security during the election, coordinate with commanders at all levels, stay in touch with all candidates, and inform the headquarters about the shortcomings and urgent work to be done as soon as possible, and to behave civilly and politely to the election police and work in a way that there are no complaints about their service facilities.

He also directed the monitoring of border areas, and if force is needed during the election, to protect and fully comply with human rights and to keep necessary evidence at the time of use of force. Inspector General Aryal also directed the commanders at all levels under his command to be clear about identifying those who are trying to disrupt the election and making a strategy accordingly and using force according to the law.

Senior officers who will be monitoring all 77 districts of the country from Monday will also play a coordinating role between the field and the headquarters, Armed Police Spokesperson Bishnu Prasad Bhatta informed.
