The head of the Nepali Congress's publicity department is sitting at the Election Commission with a token to submit the list of proportional representation candidates.

But the final tug-of-war for candidate selection is underway at the central office, Sanepa. Efforts are being made to finalize the names at the party office in the presence of the Central Working Committee members and the presidents of all seven provinces.

A list of more than 800 names had arrived at the center for the 110 names to be submitted. Although a 60/40 division was decided between the establishment party and the other parties, there is a tug-of-war between the factions within it to include their people. On the other hand, there is also a dispute between the two groups about the priority of the list of names.

Central member Bal Bahadur KC said that discussions are still underway but the list has not been finalized. He said, "The head of the party's publicity department is sitting with a token in the Election Commission. We will submit the names as soon as they are finalized."

After the names are finalized informally, a meeting of the Central Working Committee is being held to approve them and send them to the commission. However, as the process of finalizing the names becomes complicated, the meeting of the Central Working Committee that was supposed to be held has not been held yet. Leaders were busy finalizing the names at the Sanepa office since 7:30 am. Central member Deepak Giri said that it would take more time to finalize the names and said that it was impossible to say that it would be completed at this time.

The Congress has made a criterion that those who have already got the opportunity through proportional representation since 2064 BS will not be included this time. According to the criteria made by the Congress, provincial assembly members, local level office bearers and people who have received proportional representation in the provincial assembly will not be included in the list this time.
