Out of the 19 office bearers elected from the 11th general convention of the UML, only 1 is a woman. Among the 9 secretaries, Padmakumari Aryal, a candidate from the Oli panel, won by getting 1,530 votes.

Aryal had previously served as Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation in the KP Sharma Oli-led government. Padma, who became active in politics after being influenced by the student movement of 2036 BS, was organized into the ANNFSU-5 in 2039 BS.

She became the Syangja District President of UML in 2069 BS and was directly elected from Syangja 2 in 2074 BS. When she was elected through the proportional system in the first Constituent Assembly of 2064 BS, she was a member of the Natural Resources and Revenue Sharing Committee.

In the competition of 19 office bearers, apart from Padma Kumari, Rachana Khadka was also in the fray for the post of Secretary and Binda Pandey was also in the fray for the post of Vice-Chairperson. Rachana was defeated by getting 877 votes and Pandey by getting 921 votes.
