UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli formally inaugurated the program by raising the flag remotely on Saturday afternoon at Sallaghari in Bhaktapur during the inauguration of the 11th General Convention of the UML.

The eleventh general convention of UML  started today with the main slogan ‘Building a decisive national power is our resolve, prosperous Nepal, a happy Nepali national destination’. Although there is a provision in the statute to hold a general convention every five years, this time it has been organized a year in advance. The tenth general convention was held in Chitwan in Mangsir 2078. The UML general convention is being held in the new political situation that has developed after the Gen-G movement. Since the statutory general convention to set policies and procedures was held last Bhadra, this general convention will focus on selecting the leadership.

The general convention is scheduled to be attended by Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Nepali Communist Party leader Dev Gurung, National Independent Party working president DP Aryal, RPP president Rajendra Lingden, Janata Samajwadi president Upendra Yadav and other leaders.

UML has claimed that it will hold the biggest convention ever. He has brought vehicle reserve workers from all over the country to Kathmandu.
