Currently, the main highways and roads have been completely blocked due to the floods and landslides in different parts of the country. Road traffic has been affected in Rasuwa, Sankhuwasabha, Kavre and Rukum (Eastern part) districts due to incessant rains and terrain hazards a few days ago.

Vijay Bahadur Swar, the president of the National Federation of Nepal Transport Professionals, said that due to road blockage, passengers from some places returning to the valley after Dasain had to suffer.
'Nowadays, especially in the eastern region of Nepal, due to blocked roads, the vehicles that left the valley could not return in time. Passengers also have to suffer. Where possible, we have used alternative routes,' he said, 'this time, the government was found to be repairing the blocked road section due to the disaster. Although some sections of the road were blocked, which were not possible, it was easy to avoid other sections of the road during the landslide.
These are completely blocked roads
Last June's flood has damaged Miteri bridge connecting Nepal and China located in Gosainkunda rural municipality-2, Rasuwagadhi. Due to the damage to the bridge, vehicle traffic is completely closed at the moment.
Similarly, in the same rural municipality-2 Baluwakhani and Tatopani area, the road has been completely closed after a dry landslide and stones fell from above the Pasang Lhamu road section. In Gosainkund-3, Fanglung area of this road section, after the Bhotekosi river cut about 35-40 meters of the road, this section has also been completely blocked.
Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-4, Barunkhola of Sankhuwasabha, Khandbari-Thumsur section has been blocked after the hume pipe was swept away by the flood. According to the road department, it is difficult to make this section operational during the rainy season and now after the end of the monsoon, the road repair work will be carried forward.
Similarly, the Khandbari-Kimathanka road section under the Koshi highway near Makalu Rural Municipality-3, Ekuwa has been completely blocked by landslides.
On October 18th at 11 am in Roshi rural municipality-11 of Kavre, the road was blocked on both sides after a stone fell from the BP highway near Mamtikhola, Dalabansi and Buldhunga. The department said that road cleaning and repair work is underway.
Madhyapahari Lokmarg located in rural municipality-4, Kandabagar in Rukum (East) was completely blocked by a landslide on Tuesday evening. It is said that it is difficult to open the road due to a large amount of mud, stones and soil falling from the road.
According to the department, 174 highways are operating in a one-way manner.
