The government has decided to provide immediate relief to the flood victims. The meeting of the National Disaster Management Council on Tuesday decided to distribute the relief according to the standards.
According to the norms, the family of the deceased will get a relief of two lakh rupees. Dinesh Prasad Bhatta, Executive Chief Engineer of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority informed that it was also decided to give 50,000 rupees for the construction of temporary housing for those displaced by the floods.
According to him, it has been decided to provide 25,000 rupees immediately for the construction of temporary housing and 25,000 rupees after the construction of the housing structure. He informed that 5 lakh rupees will be provided in the mountains, 4 lakh rupees in the mountains and 3 lakh rupees in the plains for the construction of permanent housing. The
meeting also decided to coordinate between all three levels of government to start roads and essential services. He informed that since the roads belong to the federal, state and local governments, it has been decided that the agencies will immediately operate their road services, water supply, electricity, communication and other essential services.
It has been decided that the central government will support the provincial and local governments for this work. He informed that since there is a possibility of an epidemic after the disaster, it has been decided to take precautionary measures by taking a joint initiative with the Ministry of Health and the health institutions of the state and local governments.
