The Jorkalash-Mykhola section of the Mechi highway, blocked by rain since Saturday, has been partially operational. It is mentioned in the notice issued by the chief district officer of Ilam, Sunita Nepal, that the one-way road has been opened from Jorkalash to Maikhola border of Ilam-Jhapa, but only passenger vehicles are allowed.

Other vehicles will not be allowed to run until further notice. 

The Ilam-Panchthar section of the Mechi highway has not been operational due to landslides due to rain. Vehicles coming from Taplejung and Panchthar have been completely stopped, it is mentioned in the issued notification.

Heavy rain caused landslides in different places of Ilam, 37 people died, main and auxiliary roads were blocked.
