The rainfall has crossed the alert level in four rain gauge stations. The rainfall has crossed the alert level at the water measuring stations located at Virganj in Parsa, Gaur in Rautahat, Kalaiya in Bara and Maheshpur in Rautahat.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has requested residents around these centers and along the banks of Narayani, Bagmati and Lalbakaiya rivers to be careful and move to higher ground from areas that may be flooded.

Virganj in Parsa has recorded the highest rainfall. According to the Water and Weather Forecasting Division, 182 mm of rain has been measured in the last 24 hours at the Birganj water measuring station. Similarly, 176 mm of rain has been recorded in Kalaiya of Bara, 162 in Gaur of Rautahat and 144 mm in Maheshpur.

It is seen that Madhesh province will be affected by the incessant rain since Friday night. Meteorologist David Dhakal of the Department of Water and Meteorology said that especially in Parsa, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara districts of Madhesh, there is very heavy rain. He says that it is gradually increasing towards Koshi Province through Madhesh Province.

Similarly, the water level of the Bagmati watershed water station in Kathmandu and the water measurement station of the Kamala watershed area is increasing. Tonight there is a risk of flash floods in Nawalparasi West, Nawalparasi East, Tanahun, Lamjung, Gorkha, Dhading, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Bara, Parsa, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kavre, Sindhuli and nearby rivers.

Experts have requested to take high vigilance in the coastal areas where floods and inundation may occur.

The rain since Friday has affected people's lives across the country. Long-distance commuters have been more affected after simultaneous rains during the Dasain festival. 

The Department of Water and Meteorology predicted heavy rain in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces from Thursday to Monday.
