Aiming at disasters that may occur due to incessant rains, the government has kept military helicopters on stand-by for rescue.
Deputy Secretary Rabindra Acharya, Information Officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs, said that all four security forces, including the Nepali Army, have been mobilized for disaster response.
"All the necessary preparations have been done, starting from keeping helicopters on stand-by for rescue," he said, "since the day of vaccination, the ministry had already started giving necessary instructions for disaster preparedness." Now heavy rain is falling in different parts of the country.
Nepali Army spokesperson Rajaram Basnet told Kantipur that military helicopters have been deployed to operate as needed.
"Helicopters and rescue teams have been kept in readiness on the air route and also on the land route so that they can be mobilized at any time," he said, "Army teams have been deployed even in potentially dangerous areas." Teams of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force are also miking at the place of possible damage. The Ministry of Home Affairs has informed that efforts are being made to move some of them to a safe place.
