In the month of October, there has been heavy snowfall in Khumbu, the upper Himalayan region of Solukhumbu. Heavy snow is falling in Lobuche and higher areas of Khumbupasanglhamu Rural Municipality of the district.

With the start of the tourist season, the sudden change in the weather has caused unseasonal snowfall in the Khumbu region . Now heavy rain is falling in the lower areas of the district and snow is falling in the upper areas since morning.

When it snows in the Pangboche and above areas, tourists stop hiking and stay in hotels, said Lamakaji Sherpa, president of the Everest Pollution Control Committee. According to him, now more than 2,500 tourists have reached the Khumbu region. Out of which only 8 tourists are staying in Namcheka hotel . It is said that many tourists are staying in Tengboche village.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Manojit Kunwar informed that police are patrolling for information and security of tourists in Khumbu area. According to him, a notice has been issued to the tourists to stay safely in the hotel. Due to the bad weather, tourists have not been able to enter the Everest region by air and road.
