Government's rationale is over, Congress should leave power immediately: Koirala

Congress leader Shekhar Koirala has said that the legitimacy of the government has ended and the Congress should leave the government immediately. He said that the current government led by KP Oli has done repression that was not even during the reign of the king and said that the Congress cannot stay in the government anymore.

"There is no sense in a Home Minister resigning, the Congress should be separated from the government, it cannot be alone in this government," Koirala said in a conversation with Kantipur. Koirala said that the government's decision to close the social media which came under the scope of tax was only to cover up his unpopular work.

"Indiscriminate firing on the peaceful movement of the Jain-jis has given a glimpse of an incident that did not happen even under the rule of the king. This step is the height of autocracy and authoritarianism. The demands of the Jain-jis should be met immediately," Koirala said, "Corruption is the issue of the common citizen today. If we don't find a way to eliminate it, the country will become vulnerable to another conflict.'
