Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that he will start the process of amending the constitution soon.
Prime Minister Oli, who is also the chairman of CPN-UML, said this while replying to the questions raised by the congress representatives on the political report presented at the second legislative convention in Godavari.
Noting that the current government was formed with an agreement between the Nepali Congress and UML, the largest party in the parliament, to amend the constitution during the formation of the government, the government informed that the process will be initiated.
"In order to remove the obstacles that have arisen in the current form of government, electoral system and the implementation of the constitution, the government will proceed with the constitution amendment process by forming an expert group consisting of constitutionalists and jurists", Prime Minister Oli said, "Based on the suggestions of experts in the field of constitution and law, the government will proceed with the process of constitutional amendment."
Prime Minister Oli made it clear that the constitutional amendment process will not be done on the basis of gathering suggestions as before.
