Armed Police Force Nepal (APF) has been on high alert in the border area since the tension between India and Pakistan escalated since Tuesday night. The tension between the two neighboring countries of Nepal has flared up after India launched an attack targeting 9 terrorist areas in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir.

After the Pahalgam attack in Kashmir on April 22, the conflict between the two countries has intensified. In that attack, 26 people died including a Nepali citizen. Pakistan has said that 26 people were killed and 46 injured in India's latest attack. Similarly, India said that 10 Indian citizens were killed and 32 others were injured in the attack from across the border.

Meanwhile, the APF is on high alert to prevent illegal infiltration from the Nepal-India border area by covering up the tension between the two countries. APF Co-Spokesperson DSP Shailendra Thapa said Indian  In cooperation and coordination with the Armed Forces (SSB), joint patrol patrols and information sharing have been intensified along the border. He said, 'Patrolling has been done from one BOP to another BOP to remain in the border area for 24 hours.'

Co-spokesperson Thapa said that all police officers in the border area have been given special instructions from the head office to control and monitor unauthorized infiltration. Giving more information about the latest situation, he said, 'Army headquarters have prepared and implemented security plans accordingly. The process of checking the identity cards of those traveling in the border area as required and keeping records is also being done . Monitoring and checking at potential locations and collecting information in a subtle manner is also being done.'

In order to organize the border area and to prevent possible illegal infiltration, Nepal Police, National Investigation Department and local people's representatives and the general public have also coordinated and exchanged information and monitored those crossing the border. Similarly, the armed police said that surveillance has been increased in the important places of possible security in the urban area.
