While the counting of votes for the Mayoral by-election of Kirtipur Municipality is nearing its final stage, the Maoists have risen to the second position. Krishnaman Dangol of Congress is leading with 5,069 votes.

Maoist candidate Shivsharan Maharjan, who was in third place since the counting of votes started, came in second place. He has got 4 thousand 119 votes. From the beginning, UML's  Surendra Manandhar is currently in third place with 3,997 votes.

Similarly, independent candidate Rajman Maharjan got 1 thousand 876 votes. Another independent candidate Kavikumar Maharjan got 1 thousand 289 votes while independent candidate Dinesh Kumar Adhikari also got 1 thousand 43 votes. RPP's Dhruv Maharjan got 944 votes.
