Federal parliamentarians of the ruling Congress and UML are going to give an amount equal to half a month's salary for the flood victims. The parliamentary party meeting of both the parties held on Tuesday decided to deduct 15 days salary from the monthly salary of the MPs and deposit it in the government's natural calamity and relief fund.

The cabinet meeting on Monday has already decided to give an amount equal to one month's salary in the case of ministers.

Likewise, the Karnali state government has decided to provide assistance of Rs. 50 lakhs. The meeting of the Provincial Council of Ministers on Tuesday decided to contribute Rs 50 lakh to the relief fund of the government. Both the Congress and the UML have already announced that they will contribute Rs 50/50 lakh each. The main opposition Maoists have established a central relief fund and started collecting support from party structures, leaders and workers and well-wishers.

The Maoist MPs are going to give an amount equal to 10 days' wages to the relief fund. The decision was taken by the parliamentary party of the party. The commissioners along with the Chief Commissioner of the Election Commission have decided to give 7 days salary.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is also the chairman of the ruling UML, has requested in the parliamentary party meeting to gather assistance for those affected by the flood without wasteful and unnecessary spending on Dasain. According to MP and former minister Padam Giri, the Prime Minister has also appealed to all party workers to rescue and relieve those affected by the flood.

The meeting of the committee held on Tuesday decided to direct the government to resume road transport on damaged roads, to arrange air transport in the districts without road access, to monitor the market so as not to increase the price of food, vegetables, fruits etc. and to provide immediate relief to the victims.   In the
