Kankalini Municipality-13 of Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality of Saptari in the middle of Saptakoshi has been flooded by Koshi since Monday morning. Ward president Kusheshwar Yadav said that two to four feet of water is flowing in the houses of Gobargadha settlement.
Gobargadha settlement is located in the middle surrounded by the ruins of Koshi. According to Ward President Yadav, there are now 250 people including women and children in the settlement.
Mayor Birendra Majhi of Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality said that every house in Gobargadha has got water from Koshi . Mayor Majhi said that a boat capable of carrying up to 100 people was sent for rescue after water entered the settlement.
The chief district officer of Saptari, Mekh Bahadur Magrati, said that there has been a report of water entering the Gobargadha settlement and preparations are being made to protect the citizens.
