It has been confirmed that the two dead bodies found in Gaindakot Municipality-7 Gari on Saturday afternoon are those of the missing bus passengers who fell into the Trishuli river after being hit by a landslide in Simaltal. On Friday morning, two passenger buses from Simaltal fell into Trishuli.
Chief District Officer of Chitwan, Indradev Yadav, said that one of the two bodies found in Gandakot belonged to 22-year-old Vikas Pariyar of Madi Municipality-1 in Chitwan. Brother Vijay Pariyar identified the dead body. The body is in the mortuary of Bharatpur Hospital as the post-mortem is yet to be done. Vikas was in a bus going from Birgunj to Kathmandu.
It was confirmed that one of the two bodies found in Ghandakot was that of a bus passenger on Saturday. An Angel Transport bus going to Kathmandu from Birganj and a bus coming from Kathmandu to Gaur Jaan Bharatpur are missing in the Trishuli river after falling into the Simaltal landslide.
The Chitwan District Administration Office said that there were 24 passengers in the bus going from Birgunj and 27 passengers in the bus coming from Gaur. Out of which three passengers of the bus coming to Gaur are safe. Similarly, three dead bodies have been found so far, two of them are passengers of the bus going to Gaur. The search for both missing buses and passengers was postponed from yesterday evening. Now the search has started again from eight o'clock in the morning.
