According to Chitwan District Administration Office, there were about 24 passengers including seven Indian nationals in one of the two buses that went missing in the Trishuli river after falling into the landslide on Friday morning in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29 Simaltal on the Chitwan-Narayangadh Muglin road.
According to Chief District Officer Indradev Yadav, there are three employees of the bus along with the driver, 14 local passengers and seven Indian nationals in the Wagmati Pradesh bus number 03-006B 1516 going from Birganj to Kathmandu.
The administration office has also released the name and address details of 17 people, including 7 Indian citizens. Another bus coming from Kathmandu to Gaur in Rautahat from the same place fell into Trishuli and disappeared. Three of the passengers of the bus swam out even after the bus reached the river. Among them, Jugeshwar Rai Yadav of Rautahat Siswa Dhamora Garuda-9 and Nandan Das of Kuronia Devahi Gonahi Municipality-1 are undergoing treatment at the teaching hospital of Chitwan Medical College in Bharatpur.
Jugeshwar's daughter, son and four grandchildren were also in the bus. Their condition is unknown . He said that the incident happened when he was returning home after going to Kathmandu for his son's treatment. Jugeshwar said that he reached the river after eating five Baldyangs from the road. Another one, Saroj Gupta of Rautahat, has been discharged from the government hospital in Bharatpur after general treatment and has gone to his relatives. Disaster rescue team of Nepal Army, Armed Police and District Police are on duty to search for the bus and passengers.
