The Padam Adhikari of Jhapa Birtamod has both limbs. However, it is not possible to hold it with the hand and step on it with the foot. The elbow of the right hand is missing. The left hand is there but the fingers are missing. The right leg is missing below the knee and the left ankle is missing. Everyone was shocked when he was born in the year 2041 in Niguradin, a remote village in the eastern hills.

Ajib's child was born on earth. However, his feet have not been able to touch the ground yet. For nearly four decades, officials are forced to walk on their knees. 

Padam fell to Madhesh (Jhapa) with his family around 2052. Back then, there was no big and paved road like it is now. Goreto was only a horse. He rode down on his mother's back to Dharan, through what is now the Tamor Corridor. "The first time I saw a car was in Dharan," Padam recalled about three decades ago. "It was very strange, when I got into the car," he says, "the appearance of the car of that time is still vivid in my eyes."

Padam had passed class 5 in the hills. The mountain school, the ups and downs were unbearable for Padam's weak body. However, due to the hustle and bustle of studying at school, he forgot all those sorrows. In particular, the plan to send Padam to a boarding school had upset her parents. Padam, who had passed class 5, was admitted to the boarding school, but after dropping 2 classes. Padam, who should be enrolled in class 6, started studying in class 4. 

Birthamod's house was near Mahanand Chowk. From there he started going to school regularly on his knees. After walking for about half an hour from home, the local Kankai Boarding School was reached. Did SLC from Kankai. Plus Two and Graduation also done from Kankai Adarsh ​​Campus. After not getting the number as stated in management, he showed interest in studying other subjects. Making rural development and sociology his main subject, he joined Madan Bhandari College at Urlabari in Morang. 

"I didn't have to go to college," he says, "I would have gone only for the exam." He passed his graduation in the same school. At the same time he also completed one year B.Ed. In the year 2066, he was appointed as a teacher of Durga Mavi in ​​Birtamod Municipality-9 Garamani from special relief quota. He has been teaching the students of Durga Mavi for about a decade and a half. The distance of Durga Mavi from the house located in Birtamod-5 is about 7 km. He always travels to and from school by covering a long distance of 14 kilometers daily. "Mostly I run to school in auto rickshaws and cars," Padam said, "sometimes I reach school by walking." 

Padam is a special kind of disabled, who cannot ride even a normal wheelchair. He is not suitable to ride a four-wheeled scooter (tricycle) because he does not even have a hand to hold the 'handle'. The shoes he wears are of a special kind. Which is not something to be found in the shoe market. Even when ordering, no one agrees to make it. Putting on the shoes made four years ago at a cost of 17,000, Padam said, 'It is difficult to make the shoes I wear. You can't even find people who make it.' 

For the past four years, he has been walking around wearing the same old shoes. "We cannot find people to make new ones, and the price is also high," he said. He and his parents live at home. My brother is also a teacher. Bhai lives in Taplejung. "You are taking care of your parents, aren't you?," he said laughing before the question fell to the ground, "No, I am with my parents." 

Padam was sharp in studies since childhood. He continued his studies. Today, he is a teacher and imparting education to young students. His physical condition may be hard to see at a glance. However, he always loves his body. He never considered the body as a difficult object. "Many people may find it difficult to remember, but I don't think it is difficult," he says.
