The Khukuri Masterclass with Ian Worrell training and workshop has been completed under the initiative of Khukuri Rum produced by Nepal Distillery. In the workshop, Global Rum Ambassador Ian Warrell trained 50 bar tenders working and studying in Nepal's bartending schools, star hotels, trendy restaurants, etc.
In the workshop, he conducted theoretical and practical classes on ways to promote rum culture, time and manner of drinking rum.
'This will further broaden the scope of knowledge related to rum culture and help draw a target line of how to establish the products of an agricultural country like Nepal in the global market,' he said, 'I had heard a lot about the beautiful country Nepal, after coming to Nepal, the local Tongba, Chyang, I got a chance to taste it. All these local products prepared from local raw materials have a wonderful originality in their taste. It gives the smell of Nepali culture.
Ian says that Khukuri Rum, which has been produced in Nepal since 1959, has proven to be a 'signature' in the field of Nepali liqueurs and it has succeeded in establishing its own distinct identity.
Recently, at the IWSC Worldwide Competition held in London, Khukuri Rum's Triple X and Spice representing Nepal got 89 points and Bronze and Nude Superior got 91 points and won the silver award. Ian, who is also the main judge of the competition, has tasted more than a thousand types of rum from different countries.
