Kantipur Media Group chairman Kailash Sirohia has been ordered to be detained for three more days and the court has ordered to speed up the investigation. However, the chief district officer and police chief who were transferred to Dhanusha with the plan to arrest them anyway are delaying the plan.
Ravi Lamichhane, the then Managing Director of Gorkha Media Network, who embezzled the common people's savings from cooperatives to private companies, became the Home Minister on February 23. Ramuraj Kadaria was transferred to Prazia on March 6, within two weeks of coming to the leadership of the Ministry of Home Affairs, he appeared at the district administration office on March 8. Prajia Chakrapani Pandey was transferred to Kadaria less than 8 months later.
A month after reaching Dhanusha, Kadaria made all preparations and arranged to lodge a complaint against Sirohia on 16 Baisakh. For this purpose, Indrajit Prasad Mahato, a member of the Madhesh Province Working Committee of RSVP, was brought forward. After the complaint was registered, Home Minister Lamichhane sent SP Bhuvneshwar Tiwari to Dhanusha. On Baisakh 25, SP Tiwari met Lamichhane alone at the Ministry of Home Affairs and came to Dhanusha, a new area of work. Soon Sirohia was arrested on May 8.
There has been a delay in the investigation of those who rushed to arrest. They have arrested Sirohia without even conducting a basic investigation and are trying to keep Sirohia in jail for a long time by delaying calling witnesses and conducting forensic tests. The Chief District Officer and the Chief of Police have been working on the 'order' of Home Minister Lamichhane's secretariat rather than conducting investigations as defined by law. Ministers come and go. If they try to misuse the state power, the minister should stand up as a national servant. However, even the responsible officials of the permanent government have compromised their responsibilities due to the fear of transfer and greed for promotion,' says Sirohia's lawyer.
According to the pressure of Home Minister Lamichhane, Sirohia was taken into custody a week ago from Kathmandu because of a plan to detain him. After that, by bringing Dhanusha by road on Wednesday morning, initially three days, then three days and for the third time on Monday, three more days have been extended. Now he has been asked to appear in court on Thursday.
Shivji Sahu Teli, who is said to have citizenship with Sirohia, is also under pressure from the police administration. Teli, who is making a daily living by driving an e-rickshaw, has been banned from his constitutional right not to meet with outsiders and not to say anything. Not only this, the administration-police has deployed suraki to monitor who visits Teli.
When the investigation on Sirohia was going on, Kantipur tried to meet Teli and talk to him for a few days. However, he comes home only at night and leaves in the dark in the morning. At other times, he was seen driving a rickshaw on the road, so he stopped working because he was ordered not to meet anyone.
Monday when he tried to meet and talk, he was in a panicked state. The police said not to meet anyone, not to say anything to anyone. I am stressed. The city rickshaw that runs the household's livelihood has to be kept at home. This is also the problem of asthma. I am worried," he said when he was found in the rented room of Sahujeetol, located in Janakpurdham sub-metropolitan city-2, Dewanpokhari East. He said that he took a copy of the citizenship twice but did not notice the number.
