It was revealed during the investigation that the Ghale group has been smuggling gold since 2014 and that they smuggled around 138 kg of gold into Nepal in the last one year. It has also been found that Gurung used SIM cards in the names of different people to run the smuggling business. Ex-Vice President's sons in gold smuggling

The Customs Department started investigation and investigation claiming that Gurung is the 'main Nike' of the gold smuggling going on from Tribhuvan Airport. An arrest warrant was issued against him in the first week of January. He had a permanent home in Parbat and absconded soon after. During the investigation, it was found that Gurung mobilized Meen Ghale of Gorkha and Dan Bahadur Gurung of Lamjung who sent porters to Dubai to bring gold.

Even before November, Meen and Dan Bahadur were found to have sent Chandra from Gorkha and Krishna Kumar Shrestha from Syangja to Dubai several times to get gold. The official said that Meen and Dan Bahadur Gurung were found to be involved in smuggling in Khatanpatan. 

Within one year from November 2079, Krishnakumar admitted that he took out 138 kg of gold at the rate of 14 kg 7 times, Meen 14 kg and Chandra 4, 8 and 14 kg through the airport. According to the customs officials, Gurung is the mastermind behind the gold smuggling route.

Gurung mobilized Meen and Dan Bahadur to bring gold and they sent Chandra and Krishnakumar to Dubai, the investigation committee formed under the coordination of Customs Officer Meinram Poudel found. They used to meet Indian national Ankakat Agarwal and a man called Guru in Dubai and bring gold. Meen himself was found traveling to and from Dubai to carry gold. Meen's wife Dhankumari and Dhan Bahadur's wife Bina were also found to be talking to the porters and understanding gold. It was found that this gold finally reached Gurung, former Vice President Pun's advisor. 

It is mentioned in the investigation report that the gold brought by the smugglers was hidden in the toilet of the airport and taken out from there through the 'thief path' inside the airport with the connivance of the civil aviation authority staff. Authority employees Sher Bahadur Basnet from Kathmandu, Radhakrishna Shrestha, Lek Bahadur Tamang from Nuwakot, Anil Shrestha from Dhading and Ramesh Deula were found to be involved in taking gold out of the airport. department, Meen, Chandra and Dhan Bahadur's foreign affairs have been suspicious and unnatural since 10 years ago. With the conclusion that they have been smuggling gold since then, the investigation committee has also suggested to increase surveillance on travelers who are frequently traveling to countries such as Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, where gold can be easily brought, and arrange arrangements to give the information to the police, customs and immigration.
