In the ongoing general committee meeting of the Nepali Congress, a proposal regarding the creation of Vedic Sanatan Hindu Rashtra Nepal with religious freedom has been presented. In the ongoing meeting from February 7th, 1,63 members of the general committee have signed in favor of the proposal.
The Sanatan Hindu Rashtra Nepal Establishment Campaign started signing at the General Committee meeting held at the Sunrise Conference Center in Godavari, Lalitpur. Shankar Bhandari, coordinator of the
campaign, presented the proposal in the General Committee meeting some time ago. He informed the general committee meeting about the necessity and justification of the proposal and conveyed the proposal to the party chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba.
This great campaign, which was established on 20th November 2071, has been raising the issue of Hindu nation in various meetings within the Congress. Earlier, the issue of Hindu Rashtra was raised in the general meeting of the party held at Trivenidham in Nawalparasi and also in the meeting held in Kathmandu.
Central member and former minister Bhandari's coordinatorship of the campaign has been raising the issue of Hinduism in 94 percent of the Omkar family. The co-coordinators of the said campaign are former minister and Congress central member Devendraraj Kandel and general committee member Lokesh Dhakal, and central members Bhim Parajuli and Muktakumari Yadav as general secretaries. .
Similarly, a 15-member advisory committee including former minister Laxman Ghimire has also been formed. Lokesh Dhakal, co-coordinator of the campaign, informed that 1,610 members of the general committee had signed the campaign on the last day.
In the General Committee meeting, the General Committee members speaking from Madhesh Province and Sudurpaschim Province raised the issue of Hindu state with priority. "The intention of the grand campaign is not to cause conflict in the name of religion, we have conducted the grand campaign to raise the sentiments of the common people," said co-ordinator Dhakal.
Dhakal said that the Congress cannot move forward by trampling on the sentiments of the majority General Committee. Dhakal says that since the values, norms and ideals created by Vedic Sanatan Hinduism are a common identity, everything should be done to protect them.
