The budget presented by Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle on Friday mentions the creation of integrated infrastructure for the overall urban service management of the Kathmandu Valley, including underpasses, flyovers, intersection improvements, river corridor infrastructure, park construction, waste management, utility ducts, and undergrounding of electrical wires.
Finance Minister Wagle also said that special initiatives will be taken for the protection and expansion of open areas, including financial incentives, in collaboration with the provincial and local levels. The budget mentions the launch of a smart mobility program in the Kathmandu Valley, including electric public bus operation, charging stations, tracking systems, smart bus parks, and strong institutional arrangements.
Finance Minister Wagle also announced that e-mobility services will soon be launched in the Pokhara Valley to replace public buses with electric buses.
