Due to flooding in coastal and riverside settlements of the district, the life of the local residents has become chaotic. Floods in Triyuga river have submerged more than two hundred houses in various wards of Saptakosi Municipality. Ward No. 6 Bochhi village has become submerged when the river "overflowed" after heavy rains. Chief District Officer Tuvraj Pokharel informed that after the collapse of six houses in that ward, those families were kept safe in National Basic School Bochahi.
According to the District Police Office, 256 families have been affected by the flood in nine other places of the district. Water has entered 15 houses in Dakneswari Municipal Ward No. 9 of the district. Deputy Superintendent of Police Dambar Bahadur Puri of the District Police Office informed that a house has been destroyed in Hanumannagar Kangkalini Municipality- 12, 40 in Rajgarh Rural Municipality-6, while in Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality-1, the village has been flooded due to the flood of Khando River.

The team under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Gotam KC has rescued 38 people trapped in the flood from different parts of the district. Deputy Superintendent of Police Puri informed that the team rescued 12 people from Saptakoshi Municipality-6, eight from Hanumannagar Kankalini-12, seven from Rajgarh Rural Municipality-6 and 11 from Tilathi Koiladi-4.
