Gaur, the headquarters of Rautahat, has been submerged due to continuous rain. Local life has been affected as Gaur has been submerged since Saturday afternoon. The most inundation is in the customs area.

According to the records till 4 pm, the highest rainfall has occurred in Rautahat district. 243.6 mm rainfall has been measured in the capital Gaur in 24 hours .

Due to the dam built by India in the border area, Gaur has been inundated due to water not draining. Chief District Officer Vinod Kumar Khadka informed that Gaur market was flooded. "It is a problem to walk because of the water in Gaur Bazar," he said, "The rain has not stopped". If the situation remains like this, the problem may increase . We have made high alert across the district.'

It is the understanding of the administration that if there is a flood in the Bagmati and Lalbakaia rivers, it will be the most dangerous. Due to the weakness of the dams on both these rivers, the locals fear that they will collapse.

Indian dam and Bagmati in the east and Lalbakaia river in the west have raised the water level and the water frozen in Gaur cannot go out . This is the reason why the mayor of Gaur municipality, Shambhu Sah, had to face the problem of flooding.
