On Sunday, senior meteorologist Shanti Kandel predicted light to moderate rain in Terai-Madhesh for the next three days. Kandel's speculation spread joy in Madhesh, who became a cousin in Madhyabarkha. However, Madhesh has become more disturbed by the fact that it rains until Tuesday, the 3 days he has set, and the sun is shining from early morning. The latest estimates made by the Water and Weather Forecast Division for Madhesh Province, which is struggling with drought, hot summer and water crisis, are inconsistent.
``The next three days are not expected to be dry. Light to moderate rain will occur in Madhesh for the next few days. Today (Sunday) night there may be heavy rain,' senior meteorologist Kandel predicted. However, on Sunday morning, in the area south of the Madhesh highway, although it was raining since morning, the sun was shining in the afternoon. There was moderate rain around the highway.
Farmer Ram Vilas Mahato of Dhangadhimai Municipality-3 in Siraha cultivates rice in two bighas every year. He was not in the mood to cultivate paddy like other farmers as there was no rain this year. Hearing the weather forecast of rain soon, he planted paddy by irrigating it from his neighbor's private boring a week ago . He said that about 14,000 was spent on the planting by hiring the laborers along with Boringdhani .
However, the water filled in the field from boring has now dried up . Meanwhile, it hasn't even rained. Because of this, the stopped rice has started to be destroyed . Now he is regretting planting rice. "Now I feel like I'm trapped," he said, "If we don't water the rice, the investment will be wasted, if we water again from the boring, the cost will be more than the production." Farmer Gudri Yadav of Mirchaiya Municipality-9 has not yet planted paddy. Waiting for the rain, the seeds prepared for planting rice have also started to dry.
According to the forecasts of the Water and Weather Forecast Division, the farmers are in a dilemma in Madhesh due to the inconsistent weather. Even after the first week of July in Madhesh, which has been dry throughout the summer, there is no chance of rain. If you look at the daily bulletin of the Water and Weather Forecast Division, it is predicted that rain will fall in Madhesh every day. However, the guess is one thing and the weather in Madhesh is another.
In the bulletin of Tuesday morning, the department has stated that 'light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning is possible in some parts of the hilly areas of the country including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and few places in the remaining areas'. Division in Monday's bulletin pointed out 'light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning at some places in hilly areas of the country including Rati Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and few places in the remaining provinces'. However, on Monday night, it was hot in Madhesh and the night life was affected due to power outages. Let's look at the weather forecast of last Sunday, "At present, a weather system has developed in the area around Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and there is rain with thunder, lightning and windstorm. The system is spreading in the southwest direction . So please be careful.' However, although there was moderate rain around the highway on Sunday, it rained for a short time in the morning in the area south of the highway. The sun was shining from noon.
In the bulletin issued by the division last Saturday, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in some places of Madhesh province including Bagmati and Gandaki and few places in the rest of the country, but it did not rain all over Madhesh on Saturday .
Last Friday, the division predicted, "There will be heavy rain in Nepal from Saturday night." Monsoon line towards Uttar Pradesh of India will move towards Nepal and its effect will cause heavy rains across the country till Monday. Earlier, the low pressure system formed in the Bay of Bengal was moving towards Nepal through Odisha, India. Its effect is expected to bring good rains to the districts of Madhesh province which are suffering from drought. But, that system went to Allahabad in India via Bihar. As it was only touched by the outer circle of the cloud, it caused only light rain in some districts of Terai-Madhesh . In some villages, there were only clouds. In the bulletin issued by the
department last Thursday morning, "At present, there is the influence of monsoon air across the country and the influence of the low pressure area around the Uttar Pradesh of India . Today (Thursday) in the afternoon it will be generally cloudy across the country. The weather in Madhesh was not as predicted for the entire country on Thursday. Bibhuti Pokharel, the spokesperson of the Department of Water and Meteorology, says that because the forecast is based on the activity in the atmosphere, sometimes the forecast may not be accurate.
