On the occasion of the 105th birth anniversary of National Poet Madhav Prasad Ghimire, Marsyangdi Literary Foundation distributed awards at Rashtrapati Bhavan Sheetal Niwas on Monday.

The National Poet Madhav Prasad Ghimire Award has been given to lyricist Kiran Kharel this year. The prize money given by President Ramchandra Paudel is 1 lakh rupees.  Speaking at the

award ceremony, President Paudel said that national poet Ghimire has made an incomparable contribution to the field of Nepali literature. "National Poet Ghimire's literary creations are not only filled with the experience, nature, culture and human sensibilities of the Nepali people of Pakhapakhera, but also with national sentiment," President Paudel said, "It is not only language, literature but also to enrich the field of literature as a whole and to enhance our sense of national self-respect. He said that not only the state, but also the public and literature lovers should not compromise the respect of the creator.
