Election Officer Divyaraj Ghimire informed that 26 people registered their nomination papers at the office of the Election Officer in Dharan Sub-metropolitan City-8 on Tuesday.
Sunsari Constituency No. 1 has registered its candidacy for the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21.
Election Officer Divyaraj Ghimire informed that 26 people registered their nomination papers at the office of the Election Officer in Dharan Sub-metropolitan City-8 on Tuesday. Of these, 19 people registered their nomination papers from various political parties and 7 as independent candidates, said Officer Ghimire.
The candidates who registered their nomination papers include Tikaram Limbu of CPN-UML, Sujendra Gole Tamang of Nepali Congress Party, Harkaraj Rai (Sampang) Chairman of Shram Sanskriti Party, Mahesh Shrestha of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, Rajendra Gurung of Magol National Organization, Dil Bahadur Bastola (Nagendra) of Nepal Communist Party Maoist (Netrabikram Chand), and Bhupi Rai of Rastriya Sajha Party.
Similarly, the candidates of the Nepal Communist Party are Manoj (Surya Bahadur) Bhattarai, the candidate of the Federal Democratic National Forum Rajkumar Limbu, the candidate of the Nepali Janashramdan Sanskriti Party Rajkumar Rai, the United Citizen Party Naresh BK, the National Independent Party's Goma Tamang (Sarin), the Ujjaya Nepal Party's Dambar Lawati, the CPN United Party's Shyam Narayan Rajdhami, the Nepal Janmukti Party's Yam Bahadur Limbu, the Aam Janata Party's Raya Bahadur Bista, the Janata Samajwadi Party's Sanjay Rai, the Janata Samajwadi Party's Nagendra Bahadur Limbu, the National Democratic Party's Uddhav Shrestha, and the Miteri Party's Dr. Raksha Kumar Rai.
Similarly, the Independents have registered their nomination papers, according to Election Officer Ghimire.
According to the election schedule, it is stated that the election symbols will be distributed to the candidates after the scrutiny of candidatures, claims and objections and publication of the final list.
Sunsari Constituency 1 includes all 20 wards of Dharan Sub-metropolitan City, Ward No. 1,2,3,4, and 5 of Barahakshetra Municipality, and Ward No. 6 and 7 of Ramdhuni Municipality. There are a total of 150,393 voters in this constituency. Ashok Rai of Janata Samajwadi Party was victorious from this constituency in the 2079 BS House of Representatives election with the support of UML.
