Independent candidate Lakshmi Prasad Oli has been elected in Kankai Municipality-6 of Jhapa.
District Election Officer Tulsi Nepal informed that independent candidate Oli won by getting 493 votes in the by-election held on Sunday. According to him, Tularam Basnet of CPN (UML) got 356 votes, Ram Gopal Oli of Nepali Congress got 317 votes, Ganesh Bahadur Thapa of CPN (Maoist Center) got 277 votes.
Earlier in the election held in the year 2079, Dilgh Bahadur Thapa of CPN (UML) was elected with 508 votes.
In Kankai-6, out of a total of 2,588 voters, 1,513 votes were cast, according to Election Officer Nepal.
