Milan Gurung (Chakre Milan), who had reached Gorkha-2 to register his candidacy with a complaint that the election officer's office was unusable, was saying, "All this happened because of corrupt leaders." The candidate from the Mongol National Organization who was with him added, "Now it's our turn to do good, sir."

Chakre Milan did not stop there, he also added, ‘You can keep it in a place like this too, man.’ The office of the Election Officer of Gorkha-2 has been established in the former Forest Office in Gorkha-8. Some road blacktop work is still to be done to connect the office located in a secluded place.

Chakre Milan, who arrived to register his candidacy with the national flag on his neck and the lava lamp in his car, was complaining that the office on the edge of Gorkha Bazaar was unsuitable. UML workers who arrived with him were in the process of registering Gurung’s nomination. While Gurung was still at the Election Officer’s office, former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai also reached to register his candidacy.

Bhattarai met Chakre Milan at the main entrance. Both of them shook hands, wished each other well, and chatted for a while. Bhattarai, who won from Gorkha-2 in the 2064 and 2074 elections, has become a candidate in the upcoming House of Representatives elections. Bhattarai was elected from Gorkha-1 in the 2070 Constituent Assembly elections. Bhattarai, 71, who supported CPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal in 2079, is determined to become a candidate himself this year.

Bhattarai has 13 competitors in this election, including UML's Chakre Milan, CPN's Lekhnath Neupane, RSP's Kavindra Burlakoti, and Congress's Prakash Chandra Dawadi. UML's Chakre Milan and Lekhnath Neupane are contesting parliamentary elections for the first time. Kavindra was defeated by the then CPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal in Gorkha-2 in 2079 as well. Congress' Dawadi was elected as a member of the Provincial Assembly in 2074. Bhattarai and Dawadi, who had clashed during the Gorkha-2 candidacy registration, also had a brief chat. Congress leaders and workers jokingly urged Bhattarai to cooperate this time, saying that they had received support from the Congress in 2074 BS. Bhattarai did not give up his insistence on becoming a candidate.

During the Gorkha-2 candidacy registration, Kavindra Burlakoti of the RSVP and Lekhnath Neupane of the NCP also had a brief chat. Both candidates shared the common view that one should be wary of candidates who distribute money. Neupane, who emerged from student politics, is contesting the parliamentary election for the first time. Burlakoti, who is also the RSVP general secretary, has filed his candidacy for the second time.

Gorkha-1 is also in the news with the candidacy registration of Sudhan Gurung, a young man who emerged from the Gen-G movement. In Gorkha-1, RC Lamichhane is the candidate from the CPN-UML and Prem Khatri is the candidate from the Congress. All three of them are new faces. Lamichhane and Khatri are also contesting for the first time. The competition between the three youths is being watched in an interesting way in Gorkha-1. Hariraj Adhikari is the candidate from the CPN-UML in Gorkha-1. He was elected from the same constituency in 2074 BS.
