UML General Convention delegate selection: Controversy in Kaski after arbitrariness in the name of consensus

A controversy has arisen in the selection of representatives for the 11th UML General Convention in Kaski after central leaders made arbitrary decisions in the name of consensus.

Leaving aside those who opposed Chairman KP Oli and were in favor of voting to select representatives, Standing Committee member Khagaraj Adhikari, Politburo member Jagat Bishwakarma, and Central Member and District In-charge Krishna Bahadur Thapa finalized the names of the representatives.

The leaders have finalized the names of District Chairman Bain Bahadur Adhikari Chhetri, Secretary Darshan Lama, Ved Bahadur Gurung, Tikaram Pangeni, Nawaraj Ojha, Vijaya Subedi, and Raksha Bhattarai from Kaski House of Representatives Constituency 1.

The names of Bheshraj Baral, Ram Prasad Khanal, Tej Narayan Adhikari, Rashmi Acharya, Vijay Poudel, Sirjana Sharma, and Hira Giri have been finalized from Constituency No. 2. The names of Deepak Poudel, Madhav Bastola, Jagannath Bastola, Lal Bahadur Pariyar, Bharatman Gurung, Shobha Pahari, and Geeta Bishwakarma have been made public from Constituency No. 3.

A large number of people, including Central Advisory Council member Ganeshman Gurung, Central Advisory Council member Devi Subedi, leader Devaka Pahari, who is also a member of the Provincial Assembly, District Deputy Secretary Santu Subedi, and leader Dhan Bahadur Nepali, are dissatisfied.

Party members who have filed their candidacies for the general convention representative after their names were not included have gathered at the district party office since morning. They are preparing to lock the office of the election officer and the party office. Out of the 23 representatives to be selected from Kaski, 122 candidates had filed their candidacies.
