Lamjung young singer Man Bahadur Gurung (Ranjit) has won the title of Lamjung Loktara 2082 held in Benisahar. Gurung from Marsyangdi rural municipality-5 Sanjapu of Lamjung beat 34 competitors and won the title of Lamjung Loktara.

More than 50 people participated in Lamjung Lok Tara 2082 single folk singing competition organized by Lamjung National Institute of Folk and Dual Song.  In the competition which ended late on Saturday, the first Gurung won 25,000 rupees, a trophy and a certificate. Yukesh Periyar of Dordi rural municipality-3 Srimanjyang became second in the competition. He got 15,000 cash, trophy and certificate. Anuj Adhikari, president of Lamjung National Folk and Dual Song Institute, said that the first and second will compete in Gandaki Tara, which will be held in Pokhara. Vishal Sunar of Bensisahar Municipality-11 Chiti, who came third in the

competition, received 10,000 cash, a trophy and a certificate. Hasta Century from Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-2, Ghanpokhara Bhache and Asamaya Vick from the same place got the consolation place.

Senior folk singer Maya Gurung, Central Secretary Shankar 'Virhi' Gurung, Central Joint Secretary Taranath Acharya, Gandaki Province Women's Vice President Manju Vick, District President Anuj Adhikari, award sponsor Bam Bahadur Vick and others distributed the prizes to the winners. At the opening of the

program, Rita Thapa Magar, the central president of the National Folk Song Foundation, said that all-round cooperation and interest in the preservation and promotion of Nepali folk songs is necessary.
